Family involvement fosters a cohesive, energetic, family-centered early care and education center that reflects the knowledge, experience and needs of the families we serve. We encourage families’ active participation and meaningful two-way communication. Every day our teachers will share with you the highlights of your child’s day at Otter Creek. We have an open door policy for parents and caregivers and encourage you to spend time in your child’s program.
Families can be involved in many different ways. Parent Workdays are scheduled intermittently through the school year but less structured opportunities are organized at the convenience of families and classrooms. Parents can sit on OCCC's Board of Directors or a Board Committee. Your tangible contributions of time and resources are invaluable to the vitality of the center, as are the ideas, creativity and skills that you can share. When children see their parents take an interest in Otter Creek Child Center, they begin to understand that their parents think their school is an important place, and that it matters to help out.
