Hours and Placement

Otter Creek Child Center runs a year-long program that begins in early September and ends in late August.  We are currently open Monday thru Friday from 7:30 AM to 4:45 PM.  Children may enroll for 2, 3, or 5 days a week depending on availability.

Children are placed in classes according to their ages/date of birth.  The following chart breaks down the age ranges for each classroom.

Class Age Group Birthday Range:
Infants: Infants under 1 come September 1st
Young Toddlers: Toddlers who have turned 1 before September 1st and are under 2
Older Toddlers: Toddlers who have turned 2 before September 1st and are under 3
Preschoolers: Children who have turned 3 or 4 before September 1st

Enrollment begins in April.

​Child Care Financial Assistance Program:
The State of Vermont offers Child Care Financial Assistance to qualifying families.  To see if you qualify for help through CC FAP, visit The Child Development Website at:

Universal Prekindergarten:
Otter Creek Child Center is a Pre-qualified Prekindergarten Partner through the Agency of Education in order to partner with Supervisory Unions to implement Act 166.  We currently have partners with the following supervisory unions:
        
            Addison Central School District
            Mount Abraham Unified School District
            Addison Northwest School District
            Lincoln Community School District
            Champlain Valley School District
            Slate Valley Unified Union School District

If you live in another School District please speak with the office to see about Otter Creek becoming a partner program with your home district.

Universal Prekindergarten provides access to 10 hours of prekindergarten for 35 weeks, to all families attending a pre-qualified program.
